The proposed MOOC will take learners through the fascinating art of data-driven decision-making as a tool for managing and optimizing limited resources. Inspired by real-world multidisciplinary problems, the MOOC envisages interactive discussions (through online forum), continued by hands-on learning activities (step-by-step exemplified in videos). Learners will develop and practice computational modeling abilities to quantitatively solve them, but no previous programming skills are required as the MOOC will rely on user-friendly self-intuitive Excel spreadsheets and its add-in Solver tool. From the mathematical viewpoint, high-school algebra (namely, linear equations and linear inequalities) will be more than enough.
